Once Upon A Time...

I was in love

In love with myself

In love with my surroundings

But mostly, I was in love with You

You brought the sun into my sky

And the moon into my nights

You shined so bright and filled me up

With so much light

But like a supernova, that light was short lived

My nights got a bit hazy

My days seemed to only be rainy

I may have still loved You

But when You left-

You stole my love for myself, kept it,

And left me an empty shell

Since then, I've asked for it back

I've even said please

But why? Why must You keep it on your sleeve

When I can see that You're doing just fine

And when I so desperately need that self love of mine
